Duty rosters.
Automatic call routing.

A scheduling and PBX automation system developed for a Sri Lankan Ministry Call Centre, turning advance staff rosters into daily call-routing changes.

Historical engineering

Developed and deployed through Fennix Global. This is engineering heritage behind FennixLabs, not a current FennixLabs product.

The operational need

Schedule a month ahead.
Route the right calls each day.

The call centre needed daytime and after-hours calls to reach staff distributed across districts, with three staff members assigned each day and the roster prepared up to a month in advance.

Fennix developed an interface for administrators to prepare and store the duty schedule rather than manually reconfigure the PBX every day.

The operational roster covered approximately 25 district staff, while the daily routing group changed according to the advance schedule.

Each day, automation selects the scheduled staff from the database, prepares the required routing data and updates the FreePBX/Asterisk Follow Me configuration through a scheduled process.

The result connects a human-friendly monthly roster with the telephony configuration needed for that day's live call handling.
